Publishing DMARC in GoDaddy DNS
Add the right TXT policy at the active DNS host and confirm it with a public lookup.
Registration and DNS are separate
Buying a domain at GoDaddy does not prove GoDaddy hosts its active DNS. Check the authoritative nameservers before making changes. If another provider hosts the zone, publish DMARC there instead of editing unused records in your registrar account.
Prepare one DMARC record
For the main sending domain, the policy belongs at _dmarc. Keep a copy of any current value. Review legitimate mail sources and reporting destinations before choosing enforcement. Do not publish a second DMARC TXT policy alongside an existing one.
Enter a TXT record
When GoDaddy is authoritative, use the domain's DNS management to add or edit the TXT record. Enter the host name in the format the editor expects, the complete prepared policy value, and an appropriate TTL. Check the resulting full name to avoid accidentally repeating the domain suffix.
Verify and retain a rollback
Query _dmarc.your-domain after older cached values expire. If no policy appears, confirm the active nameservers and record name before retrying. Send real test messages from each provider, inspect alignment, and keep the earlier configuration available if a planned change disrupts legitimate mail.
